UNLEASH THE POWER OF AWS
Windows Workloads On AWS
AWS manages about twice as many instances as other public cloud providers. It is possible thanks to migration services that are not limited to Lift & Shift but also minimize maintenance activities on the cloud infrastructure and provide optimal service redundancy and cost optimisation.
With partners like S2E, AWS customers using Amazon EC2 for Windows Server have grown by 400 per cent in the last five years.
S2E helps customers quickly move, re-factor, or modernise workloads in Windows environments with our proven expertise.
Customers have been running Microsoft workloads on AWS for more than 13 years, long before other cloud service providers. Customers choose AWS because it has the most experience and broadest service portfolio for running Microsoft cloud-based workloads. AWS offers the best platform for Windows Server and SQL Server, ensuring high performance and reliability, security and better authentication services, providing services that support fast and effective migration. A lower-than-average TCO and bring-your-own-license flexibility complete the circle. AWS supports everything a customer needs to create and run Windows applications. This includes Active Directory, .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows desktop-as-a-service and supported versions of Windows Server.
AWS offers over 350 types of Amazon EC2 instances, many of which are unavailable from other public cloud providers. It is the only one to provide fully AWS-managed services for native Windows file servers (NTFS) with Amazon FSx and Kubernetes on Windows with Amazon EKS, allowing the management simplification and reduced costs. Amazon Elastic Block Storage offers 99.999% availability, 99.999% endurance and efficient block storage for the most demanding SQL Server deployments. Customers choose AWS for the best networking performance and reliability for Microsoft applications, offering three times the throughput and 25 per cent lower latency than the most competitive public cloud provider.
Maximum performance with high reliability
AWS offers the broadest global infrastructure and 99.99 per cent availability for every Amazon EC2 region. According to IDC, moving Windows workloads to AWS enables customers to achieve a 98 per cent reduction in unplanned downtime, a 71 per cent increase in deployment speed and a 26 per cent increase in developer productivity. ZK Research says that AWS provides customers with a two-fold price-performance advantage over its main cloud competitor.
Flexible Licensing
S2E offers cloud-based options for new and existing Microsoft software licences on AWS. When you purchase instances of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) or Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), AWS provides new, fully compliant licences for SQL Server. You can port existing licenses to AWS with dedicated Amazon EC2 hosts, dedicated Amazon EC2 instances or EC2 instances with default tenancy using the Microsoft License Mobility through Software Assurance programme. AWS License Manager helps monitor software licence usage and reduces non-compliance.
