Milan, February 25th, 2026 – S2E announces the establishment of a new company in Luxembourg, a newly created legal entity named S2E LUX, strengthening its direct presence in one of the most solid and strategically important financial markets worldwide.

S2E LUX has been entrusted to Stefano Pileri, a financial executive with over 25 years of international experience in Asset Management, Capital Markets, and Asset Servicing, who assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director.

Luxembourg is currently one of the world’s leading financial hubs, with more than €8 trillion in assets under custody, a AAA rating, and an ecosystem that is rapidly evolving across technology, industrial, and startup sectors. In this phase of transformation, demand for services related to cybersecurity, data management, and artificial intelligence is growing significantly, also driven by increasingly stringent regulatory frameworks introduced by supervisory authorities to ensure data protection, risk control, and operational resilience.
“We chose Luxembourg because the market is entering a new phase in which technology and security are decisive factors in preserving the solidity that has always distinguished this country. We are already operational with a local organization and professionals, and we aim to grow rapidly by collaborating not only with the financial sector, but also with industry and public institutions, which are currently investing significantly in the country’s digital growth and innovation,” stated Marco Salerni, General Manager of S2E. “Stefano brings with him extensive international experience gained at leading institutions. Under his leadership, we are confident he will make a decisive contribution to business development, the strengthening of strategic relationships, and the promotion of innovation.”
The entry into Luxembourg has been facilitated by collaboration with a major banking Client, with whom S2E already works internationally in the development and management of technology infrastructures. The experience gained on core banking systems and highly critical environments has enabled S2E to become a key IT partner, consolidate the relationship, and create new opportunities.
“Our model is highly competitive also in terms of cost efficiency, thanks to the know-how developed by S2E over years of experience in the Italian market and our ability to optimize processes and operations,” added Stefano Pileri. “One of our main strengths lies in our ability to offer an extremely broad and specialized portfolio of expertise, currently in high demand by the market, ranging from traditional IT infrastructure to advanced cybersecurity and AI solutions. These are professional skills that are difficult to source locally and enable us to support clients in complex projects with rapid timelines and a high level of quality. Furthermore,” continued Pileri, “we are a European company that develops and manages its technologies in secure and fully compliant environments. This represents a significant competitive advantage in a context where data protection and digital resilience have become strategic priorities for businesses and institutions.”
The timing is particularly favorable. After strengthening safeguards related to anti-money laundering and the robustness of the financial system in recent years, Luxembourg is now focusing on security and the regulation of artificial intelligence usage. For S2E, being a European player also represents significant added value, particularly in a market sensitive to issues of data sovereignty and legislative compliance. The solutions offered by S2E LUX can also be implemented on-premises, ensuring control, protection, and alignment with GDPR and local directives, and are developed under a flexible operating model capable of adapting to clients’ specific needs.
Stefano Pileri has in-depth knowledge of the entire fund business value chain, from portfolio management and trading to fund governance and oversight. During his career at institutions such as RBC, BNP Paribas, and Société Générale, he held senior leadership roles with responsibilities in business development, relationship management, and operations. A specialist in Luxembourg fund regulation and AML/CFT compliance, he also serves as Independent Director and Responsable du Contrôle for several regulated investment structures, including Private Equity and UCITS.
